To be admitted to the District’s Independent Study Program, students and parents/guardians must sign an agreement about the work that will be done and attendance at weekly conferences with an Independent Study Teacher. Students considered for this program will work independently, according to a written agreement and in accordance to the District’s Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 6158. The course-based certification program is an independent study option for students within Irvine Unified School District. Courses in this program are to be annually certified by the governing board that courses are of the same rigor and educational quality as classroom-based courses and are aligned to all relevant state and local content standards. USD has proudly partnered with Common App, an undergraduate college admission application that you can use to apply to multiple colleges and universities in the United States.
